Surfing in Katwijk
Surfing is currently extremely popular, and the North Sea is very suitable for mastering the art of surfing. This activity is accessible to everyone, whether it’s for bachelor parties, corporate events, a day out with friends, or simply individual enjoyment – you’ll see how much fun it is!
The waves pose a real challenge, especially for novice surfers. The goal is to ride a wave all the way to the shore without falling off, which is easier said than done, as we know. That’s why each lesson starts with a theory session on the beach. Our experienced instructors explain the basics step by step. After the theory, we practice briefly on the beach to ensure everyone masters the correct technique. Then, it’s time to hit the water and learn by doing, with additional tips and tricks provided along the way.
- Safety
Our certified instructors will go through all the hazards and associated signals with you during the theory lesson to ensure surfing remains as safe as possible.
- Positioning
During the theory lesson, we explain exactly what the best position on the board is and how to easily catch a wave.
- Take-off
Perhaps the most important (after safety) and challenging part of all, the take-off. In other words, how do you stand up? Our instructors do everything they can to teach you the right technique before you hit the water.

Got the take-off down? Perfect, now it’s time to get into the right stance so you have better balance and more control over the board.
- to steer
How do you make your first turns to stay on the wave as long as possible? We’ll explain it to you in detail!
- Rules in the water
Surfing is comparable to traffic. Beachgoers have priority, you sometimes need to yield to other surfers coming from a certain direction, and so on. We’ll guide you through it.

- From what age can you surf?
From the moment you have your A diploma, you can come for surf lessons with us.
- What kind of clothes should I bring?
You only need to bring your own swim trunks/extra underwear or bikini/swimsuit and a towel, everything else will be provided by us.
- How large are the groups?
We maintain a ratio of 1 instructor to a maximum of 8 participants. This ensures that everyone receives equal attention and allows us to ensure safety.
Prefer private lessons? That’s also possible, of course! Inquire about the options.
- I have my own equipment, can I also take lessons?
Absolutely! If you want to take surfing more seriously, you can book private lessons with us. The instructor will help you progress to the next level in no time.
